Even finding at the new slew of children's movies that are based underwater, you can see how the popularity of tropical fish is increasing. Many tropical fish breeders have seen a rise in sales over the last two years alone. This has led the whole industry, from aquarium makers to salt providers, in increased sales and profits as well.

Raising tropical fish requires a wee know how and some specialized equipment. Typically, tropical fish will need more room than your average guppy, so a large area for tank set up will be needed. Depending on how many species you would like to raise will decree the number and size of the tanks you need to operate.

Also reconsider the number of offspring you are likely to get from each species. Some species can have hundreds of offspring at one time. A percentage of these offspring will probably have to be culled, or destroyed, because their ability will not be up to your standards for your tropical fish breeding business. The small and weak should be culled so as not to cause problems in the whole tank environment.

Breeding and raising fish to a marketable maturity will need time and patience. Do your homework on growth rates and reproductive rates of each species you plan to breed. You will also need to know the compatibility of distinct species if you plan to work with more than one in your breeding business.

Salts, water, and water testing tool are also a must and should be top of the line. Water ability will play not only a crucial role in the survival of your fish, but also in the success of your operation as a whole in your fish breeding. Tropical fish can be very delicate. Your education will save you time and again if you learn as much about each species that you are breeding as possible. For example, copper will kill just about any tropical fish, so you will need to know how to set up water conditions for your fish accordingly.

Basic supplies such as food and water conditioners can be purchased from local aquarium provide stores. However, you may investigate the internet to see if you can buy in bulk to save money on the things you will use the most - salts, conditioners, nets and the like. You will also find there is a wealth of facts available on species, their natural conditions, captive raising of fish, and much more. You will need to educate yourself often to furnish good ability and beautiful fish for thriving breeding.

Once you have begun producing your fish, you will need to get them to your market. Transporting tropical fish takes skill and timing. If you are shipping fish, which is becoming more and more common, make sure that you are shipping them overnight, to an address that will have a someone present to accept the container at delivery. Always make sure that your customer acknowledges this shipping arrangement in enlarge and is aware of your returns and allowances policies.

Packaging your fish can be tricky as well. There are some methods of containers live fish for vehicle that are productive and should ensure live delivery. Depending on the size and oxygen requirements of the species involved will depend on the type of containers you will need.

Most commonly, fish are double bagged, one bag tied at the chance and turned upside down into another bag that is also then tied. This prevents corners from closing in on the fish and also provides extra piece of mind against leakage. Packing materials will need to be tight, but not crushing, to keep the bagged fish upright. A good hint to frequent buyers of your fish is to offer a allowance to them if they return your packing materials, as the extra padding and such can get expensive.

Tropical fish can be startlingly beautiful and pleasurable to watch. It is no wonder that tropical fish breeding is both profitable and rewarding. establishment well for this tropical fish breeding firm will help you succeed. If you educate yourself at every turn on breeding, water conditions, raising and culling your fish, you are sure to make a great splash on the tropical fish industry.

Lessons In Leadership From Earnest Shackleton

Lessons In Leadership From Earnest Shackleton

I have read extensively, on the lives, characteristics and leadership styles of all the great leaders including: Alexander the Great, Montgomery, Elizabeth 1st, Churchill, Gandhi, Mandella, Luther-King et al (the list is pretty extensive)

Lessons In Leadership From Earnest Shackleton

However, the one that earns my many respect and the one with whom I feel the many affinity is Shackleton because I have learned so much from his style of leadership - characteristics that I have endeavoured to consolidate within my own supervision style.

Sir Ernest Shackleton has been called "the many leader that ever came on God's earth bar none" for salvage the lives of twenty-seven men stranded with him on an Antarctic ice floe for approximately two years.

From 1914 to 1916 Shackleton and his men survived the wreck of their ship Endurance, in the crushing Antarctic ice, stranded twelve hundred miles from civilisation with no means of transportation and no hope of rescue. The temperatures were so low the men could hear the ice freeze. They subsisted on a diet of penguins, seals and finally dogs.

When the ice began to break up, Shackleton set out to save them all on a heroic eight-hundred mile trip across the frigid South Atlantic - in dinky more than a rowboat.

Unlike most of the polar expeditions, every man survived - not only in good health, but also in good spirits - all due to the leadership skills of Shackleton.

So What Are The Leadership Lessons We Can Learn?

Here are just a few that I have adopted;

- Cultivate a sense of compassion and accountability for others. As a leader you have a bigger impact on the lives of those under you than you can imagine.

- Once a work decision has been made, commit to stick it out straight through the tough studying period.

- Play your part in creating an upbeat environment: A inescapable and vibrant workplace is leading to productivity.

- Broaden your cultural and collective horizon beyond your normal experiences. studying to see life from different perspectives will give you greater flexibility when it comes to problem solving at work

- We live in a rapidly changing world so be willing to ventive in new directions to seize new opportunities and learn new skills

- Find ways in which to turn setbacks and failures to your advantage. This represents a good time to step transmit on your own

- Be bold in foresight and truthful in planning. Dare to try something new, but be truthful with your proposal so that your ideas have a good opportunity of succeeding

- Learn from your mistakes - yours and those made by others. Sometimes the best teachers are the worst bosses.

- Never insist on achieving a goal or objective at any cost. It must be achieved at a uncostly expense, without undue hardship on your staff

- Don't be drawn into collective disputes with rivals. Better to engage in respectful competition. Remember you may need their co-operation someday

A Djembe Drum For Christmas - Our Best Christmas in Africa

A Djembe Drum For Christmas - Our Best Christmas in Africa

The Christmas we spent in Africa is still the most awesome imaginable; not just because it was so distinct in every inherent way from every other Christmas of our lives, but because of the soundscape of the place and time. That year, 1981, my partner & I were teaching at a catholic high school on Sherbro Island, West Africa, in a leftover British relic of an African town called Bonthe. Aka Christmas Island. That's what every person called Bonthe. Mostly because even though it was now a backwater town floating somehow between a huge river delta and a swamp; it had once been a grand British colony, where every person travelled to for the Christmas holiday party scene.

A Djembe Drum For Christmas - Our Best Christmas in Africa

The British and all their gleened out of Africa wealth, had been gone for decades by the time we arrived, but somehow, at Christmas, a bit of the old hey day returned: the sketchy electricity stayed on a limited longer, there was authentically food to eat and the incredible miracle of ice cold drinks with ice cold ice in icy cold bottles appeared on every corner. people got all happy even though the agony of crushing poverty still beat out its' relentless bell toll of death every day. By the time Christmas arrived, we had pretty much given up on our Canadian born natural cheerfulness.

In our first 4 months there, we had seen so much unthinkable cruelty, that we come to think that any expression of happiness or joy would be just rude and mean. But when it comes to attitude, the African people were just so far ahead of any of us poomwii (Sierra Leonian name for white folk), they authentically know how to push away sorrow & just get right into celebrating right away, when happiness returns, even knowing that the next devastating loss in just nearby the corner. In Bonthe, at Christmas time, the partying, the dancing, the feasting, the drumming all got ramped right up to over the top and African laughter ringing out anywhere that wailing & crying & screaming had been just the day before. One day, I authentically did ask one of our fellow teachers, who was Sierra Leonian, how every person in Bonthe could suddenly become so happy and so fiercely jubilant in the midst of all their terrific problems.

She said " Well, in Bonthe, sometimes you just have to pretend to be happy because if you wait for it to be actual, then there will be No chance for it at all." So, that made no sense at all, to our young highly educated minds, but it struck a note somewhere in our psyche, that we would all the time remember, though decades would pass before we understood those words. It will not be anyone I could construe to you either, but someday you'll be able to see it and your gratitude will explode like a whole settlement of African drummers. The partying was fantastic, drumming, amped up dance music and libations until dawn every night.

The drums just seemed to arrive more & more each day. every person started drumming on everything. Old wooden boxes, plastic tubs, each other, the ground, the calabash wine vessels, the shells & bones & tin waste cans all became tuned up, cranked up drums. No ego elitist drummers here in Bonthe. The soundscape produced by these events were right out of reality. How can the drum music, produced on a couple of hundred bits of flotsum & trash, sound so powerful? It is just In the heart and soul and hands and feet of the spectacular African people. They just authentically know how to 'bring it' like no other people on earth. They bring it to the drumming, bring it to the dancing, bring it to the sorrow and then Bring It To The Joy. On that African island, there was no conflict between joy and sorrow.

What a gift! To be able to feel joy, right at the same occasion as sorrow, means that sorrow can not ,and does not, preclude happiness. In a world so rife with misery and devastation, this way of looking at life could truly be the only way to go through it happily with your laugh, your love and your dance intact. Give it a try this Christmas as we all face what We consider hard times. Remember: Sometimes you just have to pretend to be happy and then see what happens next. Here's to every person who still can conduct a smile to uplift their friends, house and neighbors this holiday season. Peace on earth. Good will to all. every person Drum now.

Food for healthy Nails

Food for healthy Nails

Nails are a protective horn at the end of our most sensitive extremities: fingers and
toes. They can often become injured from accidents or crushing weight such as
heavy walking or running. They can also become infected from bacterial or fungal
infections as well as separated from the nail bed or chipped from harsh weather.

The nails are often a reflection of our allembracing condition or nutritional deficiencies. Some
ways to listen to what your nails are trying to tell you are:

o Iron/Protein/Calcium deficiency = brittle, concave, ridged, white half moons

o Too much salt = external fibrous growths

o Nervousness / hyper thyroid = disjunction of the nail bed

o Respiratory Difficulties = bluish discoloration

o Bronchial Difficulties = yellowish discoloration

o Anemia = pale nail beds

o Vitamin A deficiency = peeling nails

o Zinc deficiency = poor nail growth

o Vegetable capability Oils deficiency = thin, fragile nails

o Consumption Extremes in Diet (especially meats and refined foods) = washboard
ridges

What we eat as a matter of fact does influence the appearance of these external parts of our
bodies. Start paying attention to your hands (and feet!) and feeding your body right.

The food we put In the body affects the condition of our nails, but that doesn't mean to
completely ignore the food we put On the body either. Contrary to many fabulously
smart marketing campaigns you don't need to spend a lot of money on chemically
enhanced products to palpate drive and attractiveness on your outside.

Natural oils are an excellent way to treat the external condition of the finger and
toenails. Distinct oils influence the body differently. A great way to rule what oil
would suit your body best is to study your patrimony and associate to the
predominant oil in that part of the world.

Once you have thought about which is best for your singular body's need use some
time in the evening to take a "nail bath" (remember ... The skin is our most
absorbent organ ...)

1. Allow your nails to soak in a small bowl of oil or slowly rub the oil into the nails

2. Cover with cotton gloves, cotton socks

3. Sleep

Top Three Oils to Treat Your Nails Right

1. Coconut Oil: one of the few critical plant sources of lauric acid. This medium
chain fatty acid, which is also found in human milk, enhances brain function and the
immune system.

2. Palm Kernel: when unrefined, this high saturation oil is the one of the most stable
of oils providing drive and ultimate saturation to the skin.

3. Olive Oil: the most stable vegetable oil, high in vitamin E, provides reserve to the
liver and gallbladder (yes, no matter how you take it into the body).

Now, take a wee and think about how those chemically enhanced skin and nail
products are affecting your body ...

To your vigor and success, Heather

Releasing Saltwater Fish Safely

Releasing Saltwater Fish Safely

As recreational anglers we all have the accountability to look after the fish resources which provide us with so much enjoyment. We need to respect the fish we catch and treat them accordingly, not plainly view them as points on the board as often happens in the excitement of a "smash". Gone are the days of catching tons of duskies, milkies or lessers and having them removed by the truckload after a competition. Many of our linefish and shark species are overexploited and it is beyond doubt up to us to ensure their survival for generations to come. Recreational angling is beyond doubt a blood sport and there is addition communal pressure being located on organised angling to sacrifice the environmental impact linked with fishing competitions. Within angling circles good competition anglers are generally regarded as being extremely skilled anglers capable of catching substantially more fish than your average recreational angler. For this theorize I believe that competition anglers should lead the way in developing better catch and publish practises and ensuring the improvement of a responsible ethic towards sound stewardship of our fish resources.

Catch-and-release is increasingly being practised by more and more anglers and is beyond doubt an ethic that needs to become entrenched if we are to collect a sound time to come for our favourite pastime or sport. Competing angling in South Africa has made some extremely distinct moves in this direction with most competitions now being fished on a catch and publish basis. However, there is still much that anglers can do to improve the chances of their catch surviving. Catch-and-release mortality, or death due to hooking, fighting and handling fish before release, may be considerably higher than we think with some fisheries scientists estimating that at least 25% of released fish die due to sport fishing. Many variables conclude whether or not a released fish will survive, along with the species, the type and size of the hook, bait or lure used, how long the fish is played, how it is handled once the fish is landed and how swiftly it is returned back to the water.

As Colin Attwood described in an record published in the "The Fishing Journal" (Vol 1, Issue 4), we should all be aware of the following problems that exist for many angling species:

· Fish exhaust themselves when hooked and build up lactic acid in the muscle and damage muscle tissue, which makes them stiff and sluggish (similar to humans). This makes released fish vulnerable to predators. The longer the fight and the longer a fish is kept out of the water the worse the problem.

· A swallowed hook that is cut off may rust and toxify the blood or interfere with the general passage of food.

· Handling fish with dry, unclean hands may lead to subsequent infections. The skin of fish lies on the outside of the scales and is responsible for secreting slime that protects it from pathogens. The epidermis, being very thin, is beyond doubt ruptured if touched by dry and abrasive objects, which in turn allows an entry point for pathogens.

· Fish eyes may be beyond doubt damaged by abrasion and sunburn, as fish have no eyelids.
· Lifting a large fish, with whether a vertical or horizontal hold, places the skeleton and abdominal organs under unnatural stresses that may lead to bruising or rupturing.

· Gaffing a fish, which is to be released, greatly reduces its occasion of survival.

There are a few points which are foremost when contemplating the publish of all fish.

1. general (This applies to all categories of fish and should be read together with each section.)

If fish are to be released, one must plan beforehand for such a release.

The longer a fish is out of the water the less occasion it has of survival.

Fish are covered in a layer of mucus / slime which protects them from infection. Fish should thus be handled as gradually and as dinky as possible, with wet hands and located on a wet towel or a wet foam mattress.

Fish bodies are supported by water. If the fish must be removed from the water, the best way to take a fish out of the water is to use a large, fine-mesh landing net or stretcher or alternatively use a bogo grip to hold the fish's lower jaw. Place a hand under the belly before lifting it out of the water. Large fish should preferably not be hauled on board but released while still in the water. The ensue of gravity while lifting fish out of water by the head can damage internal organs.
Do not place fingers into gills or eye sockets as these organs can be damaged.
Sunlight damages fish eyes - cover with a wet cloth while on deck.

Lactacidosis is the buildup of lactic acid in the body as a ensue of prolonged strenuous activity. general vigor yield is aerobic and produces vigor and carbon dioxide. Once the oxygen in the blood is exhausted, vigor is produced anaerobically and produces lactic acid as a byproduct. This lowers the body pH and can cause rupture of muscle fibres (including heart muscle fibres) which renders the fish stiff and vulnerable to predators and may lead to death up to 3 days later. Therefore the longer the fight the greater the extent of lactacidosis and the less the occasion of survival. So, if a fish is to be released, do not use extremely low breaking strain line and fight the fish for extended periods but rather use favorable tackle, bring the fish in swiftly and publish it as soon as possible.

Resuscitation. Fish rely on water passing over their gills to assimilate oxygen. Billfish particularly, advantage by being towed headfirst next to the boat for some time to allow them to recover.
All fish should be returned gently, head first, to the water.

2. Billfish

Where possible, billfish should not be boated but should be released without removing them from the water as thrashing colse to on deck causes extreme stress, increases lactacidosis, removes slime and causes severe bruising. Where possible hooks should be removed as hooks left in the mouth can remain for extended periods and lead to infections and hinder feeding. Where the fish is hooked deeply it stands a better occasion of survival if the hook is left in as attempts at removal will exacerbate the damage.

When fishing with live or dead bait use circle hooks which frequently hook in the angle of the jaw and sacrifice the chances of deep hooking. Circle hooks can be removed whether by reversing them out or by grabbing them outside the mouth, pulling them straight through and cutting the leader.
Barbless hooks (flattened barbs) should be used on lures so as to make their removal easier and quicker.

In Australia the use of a "snooter" is becoming popular. This is a loop of rope in a plastic pipe which is used to snare the top bill and gives better control of the fish. It also allows the fish to be more beyond doubt towed beside the boat for resuscitation and subsequent release.

The time taken to subdue the fish is critical. It must not arrive at the boat too green as its thrashing will cause additional damage, nor must the fish be too exhausted by the fight with resultant severe lactacidosis. Tackle must be favorable and if a green fish is brought alongside and the leader is in hand, do try and remove the hook or lure but plainly cut the snood.

Where indispensable resuscitate the fish prior to publish for the best chances of survival.

3. Tuna

Tuna can fight themselves to the death, so not all will survive.

If tuna are to be released preferably do not boat them but keep them in the water and convention "tip and release". If insistent on boating the fish before release, lift small tuna by the hook snood while supporting the mid-section and lay onto a wet towel or foam mattress.

Do not lift tuna by the tail as this removes slime and can cause vertebral disunion and spinal cord damage.
When fishing with bait, use circle hooks. Flatten barbs of lures.
Keep large fish in the water and keep the head submerged as much as possible while removing the hook.

4. Deep Water lowest Fish

Bringing fish up from depth leads to barotrauma resulting in an expansion of the swim bladder with subsequent prolapse of the stomach and bulging eyes. Unless the gas can be released or recompressed the fish will float and die from exposure. The gas can be released by puncturing the swim bladder straight through the body wall behind the pectoral fin with a hypodermic needle. However, this needs convention as the position of the swim bladder varies in different species and if the swim bladder is missed, the needle can cause other internal injuries.

The recommended recipe of releasing fish that have suffered barotrauma is to use the reverse hook and weight method. A large weight is tied to the eye of a large hook with a flattened barb. Line from a rod and reel is then attached to the bend of the hook (upside down). The hook is gradually inserted into the top lip of the fish and the fish is released back down to the bottom. The gas in the swim bladder is then recompressed and a quick jerk on the rod releases the hook allowing the fish to swim away unharmed.

When taking the fish out of the water if no landing net or stretcher is available, it can be lifted using the hook snood or a bogo-grip but it must be well supported by a wet hand under the mid-section of the body.

5. Sharks and Flatfish (Rays/Skates)

If a flatfish has got a hook down deep, then it's best to cut the hook off at the knot and free the fish with the hook still in. Consider that flatfish, in fact all fish, will eat mussels, hard crabs and crayfish with ease, and you realise just how insignificant a hook is to a fish. Evidence suggests that fish can shed a hook within hours anyway, providing it is a bronze or steel type that will corrode. Coated or commercially plated pattern hooks and stainless steel hooks should never be used. Fish are capable of rejecting, expelling, or encapsulating hooks. Encapsulation is a process whereby the fishes' curative process causes the hook to be covered with calcified material; or a-cellular tissue. Steel and bronze hooks are less toxic and are rejected or "dissolved" sooner than are stainless steel and cadmium-plated or nickel-plated hooks.

Those holes on top of Rays/Skates heads are called Spiracles and are used to help them breathe by flushing water over their gills. Never put your fingers in them as it wil damage their gills.
Never turn flatfish on their backs.

I would personally keep my hands out of most flatfishes mouths, the brilliant is fairly unique because of its very wide throat, enabling you to get your hand all the way down in order to recover hooks. Most other flatfish have much harder jaws and much thinner throats which firstly may levy injury to your hand and possible mortal injury to the ray if its troat was forced open. The spearnose skate has very sharp dinky teeth that can seriously damage your hand or fingers, and the giant sand shark has a crushing bite. Most flatfish can be handled by gripping their nose part, or just in front of their mouthes.

Small Sharks (up to 10kg) may be removed with extreme care from the water (if docile) by lifting by the tail with one hand while retention firmly under the body near the pectoral fin with the other hand - if in doubt do not attempt to remove from the water.

Keep tension on line at all times while retrieving to minimise sharks rolling and becoming entangled in the line.

Don't pull sharks by their tail as it will damage their spines.

Cut the hook trace while the shark is still in the water if you have issue removing the hook. It is beetr to use circle hooks or barbless hooks if you plan to publish the fish.

How I Gained 32 Lbs of Lean Muscle in 32 Weeks After Failing for 7 Years

How I Gained 32 Lbs of Lean Muscle in 32 Weeks After Failing for 7 Years

Things like speed, power, durableness and quickness are prominent attributes to have when you're an athlete, pretty much no matter what sport you are competitive in. But in the world of high school, college, and the work force, having a body that you're proud of is king...

I started lifting weights when I was 16 with two original goals in mind: one - to become a good athlete, and two - to build muscle and gain some lean weight.

I knew I needed to add some muscle to my skinny frame for sports, but when it came to my communal life I right on needed to add some size, and fast. Being a skinny guy surrounded by friends who all had 20 + pounds of muscle on me didn't make me the most determined guy in the group. I was the last to take off my shirt at the beach that's for sure. I mean, deep down I was a determined kid because of how I was raised, but when it came to girls I all the time understanding they were looking past me to the guy with broad shoulders and a six pack standing behind me.

I wanted muscle, but I also wanted to become an athlete and there weren't any programs colse to that gave me both.

So, when I was 16 I started working out. All things I did I found in the bodybuilding magazines. I was doing the same workouts as the bodybuilders, the guys who already had all the muscle they needed, and a lot of them took steroids. I didn't have any muscle, and I wasn't about to take drugs either, so needless to say the workouts didn't work.

Why exactly didn't they work?

• There were just too many reps isolating muscles that I hadn't even began to build yet. I was burning too many fat having basketball institution 6 times a week, and workouts that lasted an hour and a half were just too much.

• I needed to be spending more time on developing the big muscle groups and construction my strength. Lifting for high reps and isolating the smaller muscle groups was more or less a waste of time.

• Time was also a factor. I was spending far too much of it in the gym. If you're taking drugs, yah you can workout 5 or 6 times a week because they'll help your body recover. But if you're not, and especially if you're just a beginner, you need ample amounts of time to recover. Lifting 5 times a week was too much, I needed more time to recover, and because I wasn't getting it, I had a hard time adding the lean muscle.

• Due to the distance of the workouts, coupled with my basketball season, there was no way I could eat sufficient to add weight. I needed shorter, more intense training sessions.

What Bodybuilding didn't give me

Bodybuilding is great if all you want to do is build muscle, but if you want more than just muscle, if you want athleticism, power, speed And muscle, you're going to have to focus on more than just bodybuilding.

The "Unsuccessful Years"

Being an athlete in college was great, but being skinny sucked! It's not that I couldn't get a date, but I just felt like the "second choice" to most girls. I had some pretty jacked guys on my team who looked like men while I looked like a 15 year old boy, even when I was 20 and 21 years old. I was still killing myself in the weight room, my strength was up, my power was up, but my weight wasn't going anywhere.
I began to focus more on operation during college when I was in the weight room. As a supervene I began lifting more, and jumping higher. I was more suited and faster, but I was the same weight. I fell in love with this kind of training but like bodybuilding, it didn't give me the All things that I was looking for.

Power Lifting is great but...

I began focusing on Olympic lifts, plyometrics and powerlifting which began to yield results in strength and power, I even gained a limited bit of weight but I was 'good looking weight.' I was still playing basketball, not getting sufficient rest or spicy sufficient fat to legitimately add size, but just focusing powerlifting didn't give me the turn in my physique that I had been looking for, for so long.

A nagging knee injury that occurred throughout my first season ultimately spelled the end to basketball. After a knee injury forced me to take a break from basketball, I spent a year doing pretty much nothing. Bodybuilding once again became my focus but the huge estimate of reps, body part splits and lack of power-focused lifting resulted in the same 'ol few pounds of fat gained, very limited muscle gained. Overall, I felt like crap. I swiftly realized that I needed a challenge, I needed something to push me and I needed a formula that would give me the gains, but I didn't know of anything that provided this, so instead I decided to take up boxing.

Fighting to Build My Ideal Body

I had all the time loved the sport and I figured it would be a lot easier on my knee than basketball was. There wasn't the jumping on a hard face like there was in basketball, not the same kind of stopping and starting either, so I figured I'd give it a go.

I had kind of given up on gaining muscle at this point, spending years working my butt off but compliancy zero results does that to you, and adding size was legitimately a negative when it came to the fight game because of the weight classes.

Instead of size, I now had to shape out how to pack as much muscle as I perhaps could into my fighting weight, this also meant losing fat and getting my body fat % lower than ever at the same time! I hadn't even gained any lean muscle yet, how the hell am I going to build muscle and lose fat at the same time?!

My first few months of boxing went great, I fell in love with the sport and I loved fighting. I now had the challenge that I had been looking for, the end goal, something to part my progress; however, the training we were doing out of the ring wasn't making me look or feel like I understanding it would.

It was pretty much all durableness based training which didn't give me the power or the quickness I needed to be the best fighter I could be. Reps, reps, and more reps of bodyweight or at the most light weights is what we were doing, there weren't any explosive movements being added into our training at all. The more I trained like this, the weaker I felt and the weaker I looked.

When it came to a fight I felt weak and tired and I knew there had to be other way to both look good and become a stronger, faster, more explosive athlete. At this point I was fast and had power in spurts but I couldn't put it all together. I felt drained, worn down and exhausted and I knew I needed a change. But to be honest there wasn't a whole lot out there to help me.

Looks never wholly left my mind either. I still wanted to build muscle and add lean mass to my skinny frame.

The missing piece of the puzzle

The problem...

I needed help. I think we can all agree with that statement. I had read All things I could find online, read the magazines, but I wasn't getting what I wanted.

I was determined in who I was, I was determined in the fact that I could handle myself, but I wasn't determined with how I looked. I looked like a boy when my friends looked like men.

Feeling like girls were looking straight through me felt like crap and may have been something I cooked up in my own mind, but when I added the muscle, I right on got more looks. I'm not even that big of a guy. I'm not huge by any means, but I'm muscular and athletic, and have a build that got me noticed by girls, and eventually got me noticed by the right girl.

The fix...

Knowing that I needed help was one thing, but legitimately getting the right help was a totally distinct ball game altogether. Nothing online seemed to help, nothing on Tv and I couldn't find the right literature to fix my problems, so I looked for a job.

There was a gym about 30 minutes from my house that focused primarily on training high level athletes. They had professional and semipro teams on their roster of clients, as well as 'weekend warriors' who wanted to get in good shape and become good athletes. I applied for the job as a educator and got it. My first few days there I got to shadow the head educator at the gym and the guy legitimately knew his stuff. I watched him train a few pro football players who had similar 'obstacles' to mine: one of the things they needed to achieve was to pronounce and even growth their explosiveness and power, but also pronounce their mass during the season. The things they were doing were pretty cool. Lean muscle and explosive power was the original focus, I know that I had to add durableness into the mix as well.

I ended up talking with him for a bit at the end of the day and telling him about my multifaceted problem. Over the next month he gave me a lot of great training tips, distinct theories, what not to do and what to do for each aspect of my training that I needed to improve.

Let the Testing Begin...

The Steps I Took that Lead me to Success

• I began lifting 3-4 times a week, depending on my split, which was so much good than the 5 or 6-day splits I had been previously been trying to pull off. I was allowing my body the time and rest it needed to properly recover in order to see the benefits of the training I had been putting my body under.

• I also began eating better, with more veggies, more lean proteins and more nutrients before and after my workouts. Before this, I wasn't giving my body the fuel it needed to build muscle. If your body has no fuel source - in the form of carbohydrates, fats or proteins - it will burn whatever's there, sometimes this means burning muscle muscle. Eating healthier also keeps you healthy, gives you more energy and helps you recover.

• For the time being I also kept up my 'in the ring training,' but no longer took part with the team when they did the 'out of the ring' work. I was looking results by the second week, noticeable results. I was faster, strong, had more durableness and right on had power. I also felt more muscular as well which is prominent in my mind.

My educator wanted to know what I was doing differently that led to my success, I showed him and he was right on curious.

My next fight I won by decision, then the following one by Ko. Pretty soon after that my educator put me in fee of the "out of the ring training" for our whole boxing team - for all the guys who were legitimately fighting that is - and everyone began looking similar improvements. I was training guys, myself included, for intense bursts within the 3 minutes of a round rather than just plain and steady work throughout.
I was feeling great with my boxing, but I now wanted to see how far I could take myself with these gains in the gym.

I had been able to add muscle into my fighting weight, but could I translate this into adding pure lean muscle and legitimately start looking the numbers go up on my scale? I was still in the gym sparring and working with the other fighters, but my fighting took a backseat to the thing I had been trying to do since I was 16 - build my physique to be something that I was proud of.
And so I went to work... On myself.

How did I do?

Over the next 8 months I gained 32 lbs of lean muscle!

I changed my diet and added more fat but also ate 'clean' and had the right stuff at the right times. Along the way I made adjustments to my programs incorporating distinct techniques, reps, sets, and times for each.

My results shocked me and right on shocked all of my friends, especially the ones who I didn't see during those 8 months. I was now over 180 lbs of lean muscle, I could handle myself, I continued to heighten my athleticism because of the training I was doing, but I looked like a man, I no longer looked like a skinny limited kid.

The muscle I gained was lean, I wasn't walking colse to with any 'muffin tops' or rolls colse to the mid-section and I could still compete in the ring, on the basketball court or on the ice good than I had when I was competitive in each.

I had found my "perfect workout", a habit that made me look better, feel better, and achieve better!

Here's an example of what I was doing in the gym:

PlayStation Network's Welcome Back schedule Has Solid Choices

Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock has seen the most recent hacker attacks in the news. Sony was hit hard on more than one chance knocking its PlayStation Network service offline for over a month. The hackers stole potentially sensitive facts from thousands of Psn users in the process as well. What does this mean for the loyal gamers who refrained from trading in their Ps3 for Xbox 360s while this time? The Welcome Back Program. Sony answered this allegiance with a set of complementary downloads and memberships to assorted services such as its music service Qriocity and its excellent gaming service PlayStation Plus.

Ps3 owners can make your mind up 2 titles from the following list:

Ice Crusher

Dead Nation
InFamous
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust Hd
Wipeout Hd + Fury

PlayStation Network's Welcome Back schedule Has Solid Choices

I personally have tested out Dead Nation, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, and Super Stardust Hd, all of which are great options for free download.

Dead Nation
A birds-eye-view, dual-stick zombie shooter by Housemarque has a similar look and feel to the Dead Ops Arcade mini game in Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is split-screen and online co-op compatible which is a great increasing since every Psn user will have an chance to download this game and friends will most likely collaborate for a public experience. Dead Nation allows for character upgrades, a multitude of levels, and numerous guns to tear straight through the hordes of stupid corpses.

Presentation: Nothing special aesthetically, successfully develops a spooky atmosphere. Unfortunately, standard characters and a typical zombie thriller plot detract from the allembracing ability of the game.

Graphics: assorted environments are detailed and fun. At times too many zombies on screen can be difficult to see.

Sound: Blood splattering, gunshots, and hungry zombies, what more sound effects could you want? Sfx are what you would expect, action packed moments bring about the best music this game has to offer.

Gameplay: Fighting crowds of zombies with a wide assortment of weapons is entertaining. Differentiation in zombie types is appreciated and controls are simple to pick up.

Gaming Precision gives Dead Nation a 7/10

Infamous
What a exquisite time for Sony to release Sucker Punch's open world, comic book inspired game then right as the sequel is released. For those who missed the first one, the Welcome Back schedule has your back. The ability to be sublime or infamous, friend or foe, is a refreshing element often under explored in free roam games. Plus, a souped up, electric powered protagonist (Cole McGrath) adds to the kickass...ness of the game.

Presentation: Large environments to eye at your leisure, beloved cut scenes and an wonderful finale. However, I felt as if the city as a whole often blended together and did not stand out. The plot followed a very predictable pattern.

Graphics: The graphics are solid not spectacular. The electricity looks wonderful and the karma effects on Cole's appearance are a nice touch.

Sound: Not very memorable. Cole's shoes squeak incessantly which bothered me throughout the whole game.

Gameplay: variety of skills and moves for Cole to perform. Tons of side missions and collectables add too long playtime. Sometimes too many enemies onscreen will make you feel overwhelmed and being shot constantly from the rooftops can be frustrating.

Gaming Precision gives Infamous an 8/10

LittleBigPlanet
By far one of the most creative games I've ever played. It gives players the unblemished free time to originate just about whatever you could imagine. A large society adds to the inevitable feel of the game with new user-created article being added all the time, especially now that the Welcome Back schedule has brought new life into LittleBigPlanet.

Presentation: Adorable graphics add to the whimsical nature of this side-scrolling adventure. Sack boy is as customizable as the game itself allowing for a personal touch. Nothing of this nature or caliber has ever been done as successfully as LittleBigPlanet.

Graphics: Its graphics are unique, colorful, and very appealing. The visuals are very impressive.

Sound: One word, perfect. The game incorporates music into levels in roughly every way. Sound effects are standard and humorous. I've even heard some of my favorite video game themes on society levels.

Gameplay: variety defines this game in every way. The controls could be tweaked slightly as sometimes I felt as if Sack boy was controlling himself.

Gaming Precision gives LittleBigPlanet a 9.5/10

Super Stardust Hd
Ever play the old arcade game Asteroids? Well this is its older brother on steroids. Super Stardust Hd is a quick paced, arcade shooter where you operate a spaceship and blast just about whatever that moves. It has a very fascinating look which combines 2D functionality with 3D visuals but they function very well together. The game boasts numerous weapons including the Gold Melter, Ice Spitter, and Rock Crusher all which can be swapped with the press of a button. And the co-op capabilities make for one crazy fun ride.

Presentation: The game is pretty simple. Your goal is to destroy rocks, get points, and not get hit. There could also be more options available.

Graphics: The visuals are pretty stunning. The fascinating colors and sheer amount of stuff going on is impressive. Lasers and explosions of all different shapes and sizes will fill the screen and overwhelm you...in a good way. Except for the occasional lag.

Sound: The music changes at each level but it's not overwhelmingly noticeable. The music fits the situation but is not memorable.

Gameplay: The gameplay is great. The manic shooting and addicting nature make this a game you will want to replay often.

Gaming Precision gives Super Stardust Hd an 8.5/10

Hopefully this will help you conclude which game on the Welcome Back schedule is right for you. Please post with comments and suggestions!
